An Improved Q-Axis Current Control to Mitigate the Low-Frequency Oscillation in a Single-Phase Grid-Connected Converter System

An electric railway system is a typical single-phase grid-connected converter system, and the low-frequency oscillation (LFO) phenomenon in systems has been widely reported around world. Previous research indicated that LFO small-signal instability issue caused by impedance mismatching between traction network trains. Therefore, this paper proposes an improved q-axis current control method to reshape train’s impedance. The proposed can be implemented easily relating reverse reactive directly reference of under dq decoupled control. Moreover, considering additional control, model train–network built. impedance-based analysis results indicate feedback increase magnitude impedance, which beneficial enhancing system’s stability. Finally, employs experimental verify effectiveness method.
